Negotiations with the State's Office of Labor Relations (OLR) and the agencies where our members work began in the fall of 2008 on a successor to our Council's four-year collective bargaining agreement.
When the economy began to meltdown, the Administration of Governor M. Jodi Rell made it clear that concessions were needed from State public service workers. Our Union's Executive Director and General Counsel represented our State Division Councils' members in the months-long discussions over cost savings and job security that followed between the State Employees Bargaining Agent Coalition (SEBAC) and the Administration.
Information on the tentative agreement (TA) that leaders of the coalition's unions recommended to members in April of 2009 is linked to the "SEBAC Cost Savings & Job Security Agreement" section of our website. The relevant documents mailed to members in advance of our Council's vote on both the SEBAC and an extended bargaining unit agreement are linked below. When the votes were counted, both TAs were ratified by more than 86% of participating members.
The final bargaining unit contract has been approved by the Office of Policy and Management and is linked in a downloadable format below. Copies are scheduled to be printed and mailed to the membership, as well.
